Man snared after 'dealer lists' found on his phones

Incriminating text messages were found on a man's phone, revealing he was involved in supplying cannabis in varying weights and deals, a court heard. Harvey Wilson, 20, of Halloughton Road, Southwell, was arrested for an unrelated matter on November 26, 2020.

His mobile phone was seized and the messages found, so police returned to his address on February 20, 2021, and arrested him on suspicion of being concerned in supplying cannabis. A second phone was recovered and his home searched, turning up a wrap of cannabis, a cannabis grinder and pots with the remnants of cannabis inside, worth about £60.

He went on to plead guilty to being concerned in the supply of the drug.Mitigating, Damian Sabino told Nottingham Crown Court on Monday that Wilson was 17 years old when this began. "Whilst he exercised silence in his interview, he did give the access codes to his phones. He was arrested in February 2021, summonsed in January 2022, and now sentenced in August.

Recorder Michael Auty QC said Wilson is a very different person now, but noted that his involvement in the crime went on for some time. Wilson's sentence of 16 months in prison was suspended for two years, with 150 hours of unpaid work and up to 10 rehabilitation activity days. A Proceeds of Crime Application will be mentioned at court on November 4.
