A 'disturbance' saw police and paramedics race a Lidl as shocked customers watched on. The drama unfolded at the supermarket chain's branch in Baguley, Wythenshawe earlier this morning.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman at this stage it was unclear if any weapons had been used and the full extent of any injuries were not yet known. However, he said it appeared no one had suffered any life-threatening or life-changing injuries. One man was taken to hospital and one man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police taped off the store's entrance and part of its car park shortly after arriving. Specialist forensic crime scene investigation teams and detectives could be seen carrying out enquiries both inside the store and around its entrance.Shocked and bewildered would-be shoppers were turned by police until the cordon was lifted and the store re-opened around 2:30pm.
