The crash was one of two which took place on the East Kilbride Expressway this morning, which caused the busy road to be restricted to traffic in both directions.

A man was rushed to a Glasgow hospital following two separate crashes on the East Kilbride Expressway.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 27-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown.A short time later, a separate crash took place on the eastbound carriageway involving a car and a HGV. There were no reports of any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police were called to a report of a one-car crash on the A725 westbound near the High Blantyre junction at around 9.40am on Sunday, 31 July, 2022.
