EXCLUSIVE: Tan addict 'refused mortgage for £500-a-month tanning habit' says it's 'discrimination at its very worst'

A TAN addict was refused a £70,000 loan for his dream home after mortgage brokers discovered his £500-a-month obsession.

“With £500 a month tanning I could still afford the house — my current rent is £500 and my mortgage was going to be just over £300. He had been approved in principle for a £70,000 loan. But he says lenders read online how he spends up to £300 a month buyingI love the shock impact when people I meet say, ‘Oh my God! Look how brown you are!Karl told The Sun: “Tanning is just my thing, I do it now more than ever.He explained: “Last Friday I had been asked for a few final things, like extra wage slips, which I provided. The house valuation had been completed.

However, they have not been properly safety tested by authorities in Britain and could pose serious health risks. “We factor in a number of components to determine an individual’s eligibility and apply a rigorous and fair assessment process to each application.”Karl says he isn't concerned about the health warnings surrounding the tanning injectionCredit: Wales News ServiceCredit: Wales News ServiceCredit: Wales News ServiceCredit: Wales News ServiceThere are an estimated 7,000 tanning salons in Britain, with some offering sessions from as little as 50p a minute.

This is because sunbeds pelt the skin with such strong UV rays which increase the risk of developing malignant melanoma - the most serious form of skin cancer.

£300 a month yesterday

eabanter I’m not sure he would of had a mortgage offer. Banks do a full underwrite and asses bank statements. If they see regular transactions and commitments, it effects affordability. The 11th hour, would be the legal side. Which it would never get to without an offer. This is a farce

eabanter I thought for one awful moment that he’s trying to say he’s being discriminated against because of his skin tone, rather than because he’s a bit of a knob.

This isn't discrimination, it's the bank showing the common sense which he lacks.

He needs to worry about life insurance not a mortgage

Think those tanning products have gone to his head it's not discrimination it's common sense

Idiot injects himself with dangerous crap and wonders why he can't get a long term loan. Work it out numb nuts.

It's not discrimination. It's financial common sense.
