A van driver has been jailed for five years and seven months after a mother and daughter died when he crashed into their car while using TikTok and had cocaine in his system.
Mr Mulgrew also said Flanagan gave a reading that was almost three times over the legal limit for cocaine. He said he had consumed it two days prior to the crash.Dashcam footage showed Mrs van der Avoird braking in her Peugeot 2008. Flanagan was driving behind but did not brake or slow down.
Flanagan, of Skipper Way, Little Paxton, suffered burns to his face as he tried to rescue the mother and daughter from the wreckage. In a statement at the time of the crash, the victims' relatives said: "Our family is overcome with sadness and grief at Emma and Khiana's death in such tragic circumstances.
5 years for two lives - where is the justice?
Typical British judges, gutless, they need jailing as well
5 years? This country is disgusting.
Isn't killing more than one person, classed as a being serial killer? Our judiciary is so biased towards the criminal these days.
He had no previous convictions, maybe that's why he got a pathetic sentence! No room in prison's, so sentences are shorter or suspended. Broken Britain...
Wtf just 5 years should be life for a life, uk law need to change you get longer in prison for shop lifting,
Absolute insult, no deterrent in these weak, gutless sentences. This is murder
5 years and seven months for killing two people seems very lenient
So a couple of years in jail. And he'll drive again. Really?
There was me thinking when sentencing guidelines for dangerous driving changed last year, would see more appropriate sentencing for these horrific crimes. 2 victims and 3 times over the drug limit judge has option of life sentence. Gets 5, 2 1/2 or realistic 1 year each death
Sorry this 5 years is not long enough. Should be 18 years full served. Banned from driving for life. This case needs a full review.
Deserves longer. They burned to death cause he was too busy on the bag and fucking about with TikTok🤦🏻♂️ hope it was worth it for him🤦🏻♂️🤬
Not at all long enough. When will the judiciary start taking its duty of care for the public seriously.
5 year’s. Wow just wow. What a country we live in.
Nice badge BBC
Not long enough.
Surly should be 25 years Far too lenient
Just five years🤔
