A man in his 20s is said to be in hospital with a significant head injury following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Kirkham this morning .
Emergency services were called to Blackpool Road in Kirkham at around 9am this morning after a Citroen DS3 collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 20s from Blackpool, was taken to hospital where he remains with a significant head injury. The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was uninjured.
Lancashire Constabulary had closed the road from the Ribby roundabout to the A583 Fox Lane Ends and Weeton Road Junction earlier today and motorists were advised to avoid the area.Now Lancashire Police are appealing for any information the public may have about the incident. They would also like to speak to anybody who saw the collision, saw the car or the pedestrian in the moments before it happened, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident.
Sgt Michael Higginson, of the Lancashire Police TacOps team, said: “This collision happened on a main road at a busy time of day so we believe there will be people who saw what happened or who caught the incident on camera. “We are working hard to piece together what occurred and would ask anybody with information to get in touch with us.Anybody with information should get in touch on 101, quoting log 275 of July 27th.
