Emergency crews were called to the incident on Old Meldrum Road in Newmachar, Aberdeenshire, at 1am today. Medics attended and the pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say inquires into the fatal collision remain ongoing. Anyone with information surrounding the incident is urged to come forward. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Old Meldrum Road, Newmachar, around 1am on Thursday, 31 August, 2023. Emergency services attended and the 28-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
