Man collapses and dies as three arrested on suspicion of murder

The North West Ambulance Service received a call on Tuesday, August 22 at around 1.30am after a 54-year-old man was attacked on Brookhouse Grove in St Helens. He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries, was spoken to by police and was then discharged.

The next day Merseyside Police received a call at 3.30pm reporting the same man had been found collapsed at a property. He was rushed to hospital where he died.A post mortem has taken place to establish the cause of death, with no further details being released at this time. The man’s family is aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.An investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing.

Eyewitnesses said police have been on Brookhouse Grove since Wednesday, with officers and forensics coming and going from the scene. On Friday, August 25, forensics officers could be seen taking pictures of the outside of a block of flats and dusting for fingerprints on the front entrance.
