Man City academy notebook - treble dreams on the line as striker returns

As Manchester City's transitional season continues at the top of the academy, the under-18s are continuing to lead the way and keep up their hunt for a treble - but Manchester United stand in the way.

Sitting second bottom of the revamped Premier League 2 after winning the title for the past three years, the new format kept alive the unlikely chance of winning something. After each of the 26 sides in the division play 20 regular-season games, the top 16 take part in a play-off tournament to determine a champion, MLS-style.
