A man has been arrested after 11 people were hit by a car in a Derbyshire village with some being left seriously injured. The crash happened in Tideswell, near Buxton in the High Peak, last night .
Police were alerted to the collision on the A623 Tideswell crossroads 10:50pm. Emergency services attended and found 11 pedestrians had been struck by a Tesla. Six teenagers and five adults were injured, Derbyshire Police said in a statement issued this afternoon . Some have suffered what force described as serious but not life-threatening injuries.They said further details on those injured would be released 'in due course' but that all families were aware. The driver of the Tesla, a man in his 20s, was detained at the scene and subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, as well as drink driving.
