William Curtis who was accused of abducting a sheriff and sending threatening messages to Nicola Sturgeon could be barred from representing himself in court.

William Curtis, 69, allegedly sent threatening messages to the first minister of Scotland

William Curtis and Philip Mitchell, who is also accused of abducting Sheriff Robert McDonald, both said they do not want a lawyer when they appeared at theHowever, they were told the Crown may apply to have solicitors appointed for them due to the involvement of vulnerable witnesses in the case. It is alleged they seized the sheriff pulled him to the ground, sat on top of him and detained him against his will.

He is further accused of sending a message on March 9, 2019, to MSP Stewart Stevenson, which threatened him and contained a link to a video relating to the murder of former Westminster MP Jo Cox.
