Hosie refused to stop for two officers on the road who had to take evasive action to avoid being struck. He had earlier driven against the flow of traffic off the one-way road and almost hit two cars heading towards him.
The court heard Hosie drove past a no entry sign from Ingram Street into Queen Street which is a one way system. Hosie"drove against the flow of traffic" and almost struck two vehicles that were coming towards him."They signalled for the vehicle to stop but they were required to take evasive action.A third officer further down the road used his baton to strike Hosie's windscreen. He was tested and found to have 97.8 microgrammes in his breath when the legal limit is 22 microgrammes. It was revealed that Hosie has a previous conviction of driving without insurance from 2017.
Sheriff Bernard Ablett said:"This was a serious offence of dangerous driving - I am going to impose a community payback order." The dad-of-one, of the city's Cardonald, was ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work and disqualified from driving for 20 months.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
