More than 200 jobs will be lost after Nottinghamshire 's second largest business was taken over by an American firm. Giant US-based company Lithia is planning hundreds of redundancies just months after buying the majority of formerly Annesley-based car dealership group Pendragon, which it took control of at the end of January.
Staff were informed of these redundancies, which are a result of a restructuring which includes the closure of nine of the company's CarStore sites, on Tuesday, April 23. Lithia UK declined to specify whether its CarStore on Nottingham Road, Beeston, would be shut or transferred to another one of its brands - which it said is happening to some of the dealerships.
