BREAKING: Madeleine McCann murder suspect won't be freed from prison after losing appeal

The 43-year-old was extradited from Italy to Germany under a European arrest warrant in 2018 and was later convicted of the rape of a 72-year-old American woman in Praia da Luz, the same Portuguese resort where Madeleine went missing in 2007.

Christian B was arrested in 2018 in Italy, and is currently serving a 21 month sentence for drug dealing. In December he was convicted of the rape of the pensioner. Madeleine was on holiday with her family when she vanished from her bedroom in Praia da Luz 13 years ago. Police in the UK say there is no ‘definitive evidence whether Madeleine is alive or dead’and are still treating her case as a missing person investigation.Christian B, who has has denied having anything to do with the toddler’s disappearance, was living nearby at the time she went missing and telephone data suggests he was near the apartment an hour before she was last seen.
