Jamie Laing has hit back at critics after he faced criticism for bagging his job on the BBC without having previous experience in the industry, and says he's worked hard to secure his new Radio 1 role. The former Made In Chelsea star, 35, has recently taken over from presenter Jordan North, who has moved from the BBC to Capital FM.
Fans of the station complained and pointed out that they would stop listening and boycott the network when Laing joined co-stars Vick Hope and Katie Thisleton. He said: "I don't think it seems 'unfair'. I was doing Made In Chelsea back in the day and then people sort of think maybe I got to do Radio One because I was on a reality show.
Rob added: "And the reaction has been great, the answer is it might get you into the door to be a little well known but it doesn't get you to stay there. But it doesn't get you to stay there."Prior to starting his new radio gig, the former reality TV star stated it was wrong to think that he "just swanned in". Jamie's response to critics comes just weeks after the star hit back at trolls who labelled him as just a "posh boy".
