Cool

Is this really not going to backfire horribly?

Y'all really trying to outdo 2020, huh?

Oh yes apocalypse time

Oh boy. If 2020 couldn’t get any worse. The AI singularity could be here soon. (Was originally predicted for the 40s but jeez.

We should really stop before they become sentient. Especially after hearing about the rokos basilisk thought experiment. Pretty scary concept that's 100% possible. Research it if you're interested. Professor Dave has a fantastic video on it.

Contribute before the basilisk takes you

Could we not

Nononononononono

Is it time for I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream?

Just shut it down for fuck's sake

I hope they learn that it'll be much easier to just create a rocket filled with nanomachines to upload their consciousness into and jettison themselves into space and run off solar on another planet than go the path of Terminator on us all.

No you shut that shit down now

15 years seems too far away

2020 need to fuck off right now or else

please no more good god listen to Stephen Hawking

Awesome! It’s time to find out if AI is the best thing that ever happened to humanity or the worst ever.

How tf do you train ai at 299 792 458 m / s?

elonmusk R.I.P the human race I guess

Well at the speed of electricity over the preferred medium... but yeah 🤷🏾‍♂️

moral bankruptcy at its finest

Can't they go back to making useless studies? We already said no to ww3.

And yet it still can’t find my fucking printer

When opportunely trained, [the platforms] can be used for performing interference at the speed of light

Did any of these scientists watch terminator STOP

Oh great.

Learn at the speed of light.... The fuck does that even mean. Sounds like the plot of a fan fiction writer.

So we adding Machine rebellion to the list of bad stuff in 2020

Y’know there’s movies that warn against this. Man scientists may be smart but they’re dumb as shit.

its called the singularity

I for one welcome our new AI overlords, the age of lame ass popularity contests to decide leaders is pure cancer.

Wow thanks nobody asked for that

I for one congrat our metallic overlords in showing their superiority over the sacks of flesh

This is cringy pop-sci bullshit, everyone please stop.

Oh fucl

Ftraversoa

Wtf do you mean

AndrewYang

Finally. I was starting to worry we’d hit the apocalypse without getting to the one horseman I had my money on.

Hmm, all I'm hearing is apocalypse.

Maybe 2020 wasn't the best year to develop this...

So, Skynet?

Like this?

we're all fucked.

We are doomed

We're not even worried about the singularity anymore are we?

bane_baldy At this point I would welcome our android overlords.

Scientists also want to embed a chip into your brain so you can stream music directly..

The article stated photons would be ×100 faster without the need to cool. Sounds like a move in the right direction.

Can we have an AI PM who has had Russian Report inputted and actioned?

What watching numerous movies has told me is we should probably stop at this point...and before u say its a movie, so were all those movies about viruses!

I preferred it when it looked like the goats were going to take over

Are they going to learn what pricks we are

GuyVerhoftwat

Skynet is aware?

Don't worry - someone will have forgotten to charge the battery at some point.

Not now AI.

GuyVerhoftwat What could possibly go wrong?

GuyVerhoftwat Still think you're going to get your job back after the furlough?

GuyVerhoftwat Eeeeh, when I train my models...... I don't supervise the computer... JournalismIsReallyDeadIsntIt

Hello Skynet, my old friend.

Shamils18 Microprocessors use electrons which travel at the speed of light. This is why CPUs have to get smaller for them to process data faster. So nothing has changed as far as microprocessors are concerned.

Detroit_Game Stop this madness before it turns into an uprising

Shame our govt can't do the same

I work in IT and this baffles me.. Two things. Optical switching is more efficient than electrical (as you're not converting optical to electrical signals). Its a natural step for transmission.. But unsupervised AI learning? That's also a relatively normal thing to do..

One more step towards robot apocalypse..

I, for one, welcome our new AI overlords!

Skynet ahoy

Wonderful. Now we have the machines to worry about

2020 Doesn’t disappoint does it!

Scientists need to watch The Terminator!

Stop this please. There's enough shit to deal with in 2020 already without Robot Armageddon too.

Welcome to Skynet!! Where here to support the human race.

Great. Just what we need.
