The dangerous driving was reported to police by concerned witnesses who saw the Ford Focus on a Cumbria stretch of the motorway on Friday night. Police were sent to the scene and a Glasgow man was stopped and drug tested.
The 45-year-old was then arrested on suspicion of drug driving and dangerous driving and has been released on bail while enquiries continue. Cumbria Police is now asking anyone else who witnessed dangerous driving that night to come forward.
Officers are looking to hear from anyone who has dash camera footage of the driving or has witnessed the driving.
