Andros Townsend claims the current situation regarding Everton and Nottingham Forest’s points deduction appeals is making ‘a mockery’ of the end to the season.

And speaking on BBC 5Live’s Monday Night Club, Townsend hit out at the process and the fact penalties were not laid down when the rules were formulated. “If there is an appeals committee why don’t the Premier League say ‘Everton, we have our case, you put your case together and we go straight to the appeals committee’. Why are we doing this one charge, one points deduction and then we are going to the appeals committee? It doesn’t make sense.”
