Justice Secretary Robert Buckland 'sorry' for failing rape victimsJustice secretary apologises to rape victims for low conviction rates in England and Wales and promises to 'do a lot better' How do you do better ? If the evidence isn't sufficient to get a conviction, you can't get a conviction. Appalling Kuenssberg article lacks any sense of critical assessment. 'Apology to rape victims matters'- do the victims say that? And 'Culture can't be changed overnight'. The current administration has been in power for over 10 years. May or Patel? No mention. 4th rate journalism Rather sinister! Maybe conviction rates are low because of evidence. Maybe more will now be convicted just to get the numbers up! How can you promise to do better if evidence isn't there? Many people are wrongfully charged, named and shamed. But NOT the so called 'victim'!!!
