With Love Island airing six out of the seven days of the week, and the contestants busy finding their way in and out of love triangles, we can hardly imagine they have time to fit in much else – manicures or otherwise.
But this week fans have been left puzzled after Millie Court and Chloe Burrows showed off seemingly fresh nail looks – Millie with a dazzling white mani, and Chloe with multicoloured pastel nails, not neon yellow. Naturally, Twitter was ablaze with commentary on the subject. "Confused by #LoveIsland Chloe’s nails keep changing, then reverting back to the colours they were earlier. Are we being shown things all out of order?!” asked one particularly confused Twitter user."The girls have clearly had their hair done as Faye’s tape extensions have disappeared," a third noted.OK! was previously told exclusively by former Islander Kady McDermott that the girls are allowed to get their nails done and their hair extensions fixed by a professional.
“We got our nails done once, in six weeks,” she said, referring to her stint on the show in 2016. “I reckon they’re getting their nails done every two weeks now, they always look so fresh. I think the budget has gone up!”Love Island reps have also recently confirmed that the contestants get a day off from filming on Saturdays, and that this is the day of the week they’re given the go-ahead to refresh their beauty looks.
Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore shed more light on the subject in a Cosmopolitan interview, saying that while past contestants were free to go out to local salons to get their acrylics done or their extensions re-taped, these day the show is too big and a mobile technician has to come to the villa instead.
