Weird Weekend III is a cult festival that will celebrate the world's strange and unseen cinema, with 24 films expected to be shown over a weekend.
The event will be held at the Centre for Contemporary Arts on Sauchiehall Street from Friday, October 28 to Sunday, October 30.One of the highlights of the upcoming festival includes the screening of a Troika, a rediscovered film by cult filmmaker Frederic Hobbs. It has not been viewed for 50 years, and will now be shown to Glasgow audiences after being restored by festival organisers Matchbox.
Viewers can also expect to see Earth II, the most expensive climate disaster feature film to be produced for no money, starring powerhouse names such as Keanu Reeves, Nicholas Cage and Will Smith. To ensure the festival is as accessible as possible, the entire programme features descriptive subtitles and live captions.
Tickets are available as weekend or day passes, while individual tickets are priced on a sliding scale, meaning audiences pay what they can afford, with reference to a three-tiered sliding scale guide.
