From Hollywood heavyweights to stars of TV and sport, some of Lancashire's most famous faces as you've never seen them before

Before they carved out successful careers in TV, film or sport, many now famous faces from Lancashire had to graft for years before finding fame.

From England captain's to Hollywood A-listers, to others that have become household names, here are six famous Lancashire exports as they have rarely been seen before. Amanda Barrie Actor Amanda Barrie, 86, has had a successful career on stage, film and TV, appearing in two Carry On Films before later being cast as Alma Halliwell in ITV soap Coronation Street. She also played the role of Bev Tull in ITV prison drama, Bad Girls, and appeared in Celebrity Big Brother in 2018.

Sir Ian was born in 1939 in Burnley, before his family moved to Wigan and later Bolton. He started off in local theatre before winning a scholarship to study English Literature in Cambridge where he continued to perform. Victoria Wood The late comedian Victoria Wood was born in Prestwich, which is didn't become part of Greater Manchester, until 1974 and her archetypal 'Lancashire lass' comedy persona drew heavily on her upbringing in the county. The renowned comedian, actress, lyricist, singer, composer, pianist, screenwriter, producer and director sadly died in 2016 aged 62 following a private battle with cancer.
