Lonely Planet names only UK city on 2023 must-visit list

Bev Craig said that offer was down to "long-term planning and partnership".

The guide said that alongside Manchester "being an accessibility-friendly destination that's also doing a lot for sustainability", the city also has "some exciting things happening in 2023", such as the renovation of Manchester Museum and the expansion of the Manchester Jewish Museum.

"It's a city to experience, not just visit, so our suggested itineraries have also flagged up live music, great places to eat and drink and street art tours, and much more," he added."This prestigious accolade is a further demonstration that we are making our mark on the world stage."

I'm from south coast I loved York and Manchester. Great museums. Easier to get around than London. But I prefer my views from my favourite lookout cafe ....that Portland across the bay and lodmoor wetland rspb

The lonely planet board is racist

Photographed: a bunch of indefinable foreigners in whatchamacallit costumes. No one comes to England to see this rubbish.

Lord no. Grey and moody

Wrexham was probably given city status too late to make the list.

Cos Manchester filled in the application form

Pass.

Lonely Planet is totally wrong. Manchester is a beautiful city however so is London, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds, Salisbury, Winchester, the list goes on...🙂

Many places in UK but very few cities if any…Camb, York maybe, certainly none of the shitholes like Manchester.

Lived in the UK for more than a decade and so far have never been to Manchester… perhaps I should make the effort.

How nice. Personally I wouldn't visit Manchester 🤣

It's because UK cities have been turned in to hell holes

That's why its the lonely planet Manchester is one place i would only visit if I was dragged there by the testicle under pain and sufferance.

Well done Lonely Planet marketing people. You make it look so easy.

I live 30 miles away in Liverpool. I never feel the need to go to Manchester. It is over-hyped. We have everything we need here, including the seafront.

When Aberdeen exists? This slander…

And that’s a sh1t hole

Suck it, every other city!
