Transport for London wants to build the world’s longest and tallest vertical lift bridge across the River Thames in London.
They have proposed to build the pedestrian and cycling crossing between Rotherhithe and Canary Wharf.The deck will lift to a height of 60m, which surpasses the length of New York’s Arthur Kill bridge.The initial estimated cost was set at £300 million to £400 million, but TfL has not confirmed if the numbers have changed.
