Saskia Jones and Jack Merritt were involved in the prisoner rehabilitation conference where Usman Khan launched his knife attack.

"Saskia had a great passion for providing invaluable support to victims of criminal injustice, which led her to the point of recently applying for the police graduate recruitment programme, wishing to specialise in victim support.

Mr Merritt had written a dissertation at university which analysed the over-representation of black, Asian and ethnic minority men aged 18 to 21 in the British prison system. Professor Stephen J Toope, vice chancellor of the University of Cambridge, said he was"sad beyond words" to confirm the deaths of the two former students.

The director of the Institute of Criminology at the University of Cambridge - where both Mr Merritt and Ms Jones completed masters degrees - also paid tribute to the former students.Professor Loraine R Gelsthorpe said Ms Jones had"extraordinary intellectual creativity" and a"strong belief that people who have committed criminal offences should have opportunities for rehabilitation".

Tributes and flowers were placed on London Bridge after part of the police cordon was removed on Sunday and some vehicles moved from the bridge.

MrJonnyBenjamin Tobias_Ellwood I seem to recall that the evidence on post-traumatic shock and recovery is that you only benefit if you are not recovering with your normal support networks. Proactive support for those who don't need it may even be harmful.

Tobias_Ellwood An American observed during the Blitz: 'By every test and measure I am able to apply, these people are staunch to the bone and won't quit ... the British are stronger and in a better position than they were at its beginning' But you want them to seek 'support' for a stabbing?

Some might say it is our leaders who have fostered this mess that need mental health treatment.

Time to stop mass immigration yet?

Unfortunately many others will die until this liberal insanity is curbed

I find it difficult to comprehend that there were no security checks in building for knives etc

الله يرحمهم...

So sad

I'm sure their loved ones will take comfort from knowing their murders are being used for political gain.
