Those interested in the legend of the Loch Ness Monster have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the largest-scale search for the elusive legend in decades.

The biggest hunt for the Loch Ness Monster in over 50 years is set to kick off this August - and Nessie fans are wanted for the search.

Surveying equipment that has never been utilised on Loch Ness before will be used to help reveal the secrets of the waters, including drones that will create thermal images of the loch using infrared cameras. It is thought that detecting heat from above may provide a crucial component for identifying abnormalities in the water.

Every morning, volunteers will be briefed by Alan McKenna from LNE at the Loch Ness Centre on what they should be keeping an eye out for, and how to record their findings. There will also be a daily debrief in the afternoon where they will be able to discuss the day's events.
