The quartet combined for 10 medals at the event in Grangemouth

Four Livingston para-athletes achieved a stunning medal haul at the Scottish Disability Sports Senior Track and Field Championships in Grangemouth.

The quartet of Cameron Tweedie, Matthew Power, Finlay Menzie and Kaydan Day combined to win seven gold medals, along with two silvers and a bronze Frame runner Finlay set a new personal best in the 400m of 1:22.18. He also came first in the T72 category in the 100m with a time of 20.22. And he made it a golden trio with a fine run in the 200m race runner category with a time of 41.44 for his third gold medal.

T20 athlete Matthew won double gold in the shorter distance events, winning the 100m in 12.33 and crossing the line in 24.34 in the 200m to finish ahead of the field.Kaydan won gold in the men’s 1500m with a time of 5:04.31 before making it double national delight with gold also in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:09.65.Cameron Tweedie picked up two medals for himself, too, as he won silver in the 1500m with a time of 5:09.

Their coach at Livingston Athletics Club, Celia Peerless, said: ‘The guys did extremely well and I am a very proud coach.”
