Actress Lisa Banes is in a critical condition after being involved in a hit-and-run on the streets of New York, her manager has said.
The 65-year-old, who is best known for roles in Gone Girl and Cocktail, was said to walking on the Upper West Side of Manhattan near the Lincoln Centre on Friday evening when the incident occurred. Banes was apparently struck by what was thought to be a motorized scooter or bike while crossing Amsterdam Avenue on the way to visit the performing arts school Julliard.Banes was reportedly heading to Julliard performing arts school when she was hit. According to her manager, she is in a critical condition at Sinai Morningside hospital, where she is being treated for"substantial injuries". Police say they were called to the scene at around 6.30pm local time , saying in a statement to Variety:"Upon arrival, officers observed a 65-year-old female pedestrian lying on the roadway with severe head trauma."EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to Mount Sinai Saint Luke's Hospital, where she remains in critical condition."
