Scottish Line of Duty star Brian McCardie has died aged 59 as his sister, Sarah, announced the news on social media. She wrote: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian James McCardie, beloved son, brother, uncle and dear friend to so many.
As Sarah announced the passing of her brother, lots of tributes came pouring in. Actor David Carlyle said: “Sarah I’m so sorry, thinking of you and your family. Sending so much love x." Scottish actor Ryan Fletcher penned: “Sarah. I cannot believe I am reading this. Terrible news. I’m so sorry. Sending our love to you and all the family. I’m heartbroken for you all.”
Brian grew up in North Lanarkshire and developed an interest in acting while at school. His first acting credit came in 1990 in the film Forget About Me, Brian also went on to star in Ghosts, Holby City, Outlander and Time with Stephen Graham.
