Linda Nolan hasn’t had sex since husband Brian Hudson died of cancer in 2007.
However, the singer, 60, who shot to fame as part of 1970s girl group The Nolans, is ready to find love again after years of ‘complex grief’.‘It’s not about sex. If it happens, that’s great, but it’s not the be all and end all.’ It’s been a difficult few years for the West End actor, who in 2005 was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. In 2013, the same disease took the life of Nolan’s 52-year-old sister Bernie.
In 2017, after years of remission, Nolan was told her cancer had come back—and this time, doctors told her it’s ‘treatable but not curable’.‘That’s frightening for me, because that’s what they said to Bernie and two years later she passed away,’ she confessed.Nolan thinks the ‘sexual side’ of a new relationship might be challenging because she’s still learning to feel comfortable with her post-mastectomy body.‘Don’t worry, I’m not climbing the walls.
The star admits she ‘even had a little kiss with a lovely gentleman’ she’d ‘known for years’ prior to her re-diagnosis.
