The Police & Crime Commissioner for Lincolnshire has confirmed that the force is still yet to receive any funding for policing the upcoming RAF Scampton asylum camp, and vowed to “hold to account” those responsible for recent violent acts at the base.

Marc Jones also revealed that he is “fully behind” the local community in their protests against plans to house up to 2,000 asylum seekers at the former RAF base, saying it is the “wrong thing to do in the wrong location.”A man found hiding in a field was arrested after a collision on the A15 at Scampton on Tuesday night.

A green Ford CMax left the road and was involved in a collision, which was reported to police at 9.11pm on February 6, 2024.South Holland District Council leader Nick Worth maintains hope that the proposed devolution deal for Greater Lincolnshire could bring additional funding in the future. The representative for Holbeach Hurn ward remained optimistic about the proposed deal, despite acknowledging that the £28.4 million in capital funding “wasn’t a massive amount of money.”
