The Liberal Democrats have reported Rishi Sunak to a parliamentary watchdog over investments they say he failed to declare before entering cabinet

"But, because he didn't declare his interests back then, we have no idea whether they did. That's why we need an urgent investigation into whether he broke the rules."

The chancellor, who previously lived and worked in the United States, has also faced scrutiny over his green card status, disclosing last week that he held the US permanent residency document until last autumn, a year and a half after moving into Number 11. If started, an investigation by the standards commissioner would be the third Whitehall inquiry to be launched since Mr Sunak's private arrangements began to become the focus of major political interest last week.the independent adviser on ministers' interests, Lord Geidt, to investigate Mr Sunak's financial affairs - at the chancellor's request.

Fresh blow for embattled Rishi Sunak as economy grows by just 0.1 per centRISHI Sunak faces yet another headache with the economy hitting the buffers as he scrambles to save his job. The embattled Chancellor must deal with growth of just 0.1 per cent. It comes as he figh… No one has any money to spend You can’t grow an economy while people don’t have money to spend … Much of the problem is of his own making, government would rather fill their own coffers with our taxes & then waste it, £12+b written off & we’re paying the bill The tactic of this government is to hide behind the law RishiSunak is no different. This is about a government that looks after the interest of themselves & the wealthy donors over the interest of the many voters. It is not the law we question; it is power and greed.
