The midfielder has been a revelation in Italy ince joining Bologna from Aberdeen in 2022, and the 24-year-old has already attracted interest from a number of top clubs.

Former Juventus stalwart Alessio Tacchinardi has backed his old side to make a move for Bologna's Scottish star Lewis Ferguson next summer.

The 24-year-old has taken Serie A by storm since completing a £3million switch from Aberdeen in the summer of 2022, and his 13 strikes in 63 matches have seen him overtake Denis Law as the highest scoring Scot in the Italian top-flight. Ferguson has quickly became an essential part of a Bologna team under ex-Inter Milan and Italy midfielder Thiago Motta that are chasing Champions League qualification this season, and has donned the captain's armband on several occasions.

Ferguson's exploits have already caught the eye of several top clubs in Italy, with AC Milan and Napoli also said to be keen admirers of the player. Recent reports in Italy suggest that Turin giants Juve may have to choose between moving for Ferguson or Atalanta's Dutch playmaker Teun Koopmeiners, but former midfielder Tacchinardi, who won 17 major honours with the Old Lady between 1994 and 2007, has urged his old team to try and bring both players to the Juventus Stadium.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, he said: “In my opinion, Juve should take them both. This team needs midfielders who know how to score goals: and they both are. It needs intense players: and they both are. Players who dribble and attack the goal: and they both are. "They compliment each other very well and I would take them both. If I had to choose, it would also depend on the technical guide: Koopmeiners seems to like to dribble a little more, Ferguson always goes inside. But then again, I would see them well together and in my opinion they are two Juventus players.”
