Lewis Ferguson major blow with surgery required on cruciate ligament injury

Lewis Ferguson has been dealt a major injury blow after Bologna confirmed he has sustained a cruciate ligament injury.

Ferguson has been a key man for his club side netting six goals and providing five assists so far this campaign as Thiago Motta's men chase Champions League football for next season. They currently occupy fourth spot in Italy's top flight with nearest challengers Roma four points back - having played one game less.

The form of the Scotland international has him at the heart of a FIVE team transfer battle. Clubs in Italy are locked in a £20million plus fight for his signature.
