Roadworks across Nottinghamshire and the whole of England are set to be stopped for Easter as National Highways bids to make holiday travel easier. Around 98% of England's motorways and major A roads will be free from roadworks between 6am on Thursday, March 28, and Tuesday, April 2.
Across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, there are eight different locations at which roadworks will be stopped or finalised before Thursday morning. There are just two being postponed - the five miles of roadworks on the A1 from Barrowby to Newark and the half mile on the A52 from Dunkirk to Wilford. Andy Butterfield, customer services director at National Highways, said: “This is the first bank holiday of the year, so we expect the roads to be busy with people looking to make the most of a long weekend.
