Sir Lenny Henry has announced that he will be stepping down from hosting Comic Relief after an incredible 39 years, as he hosts his last show and there's a reason why

Sir Lenny Henry has announced the sad reason why he's quitting Comic Relief as he hosts his last-ever show. The actor and comedian, 65, has become the face of the charity after co-founding it with Love Actually director, Richard Curtis back in 1985.

"I'll be doing fundraising stuff, I just won't be hosting on the night. I'll probably still do documentaries and announcements and things. Lenny has hosted the show since 1988 and has decided it's time to pass the baton to new talent. While the news came as a shock to fans, one applauded the presenter for "recognising the next generation."

A second wrote: "Will miss you Lenny I've grown up with you. Always give red nose you take care enjoy your break because after 40 years you have worked your socks off." A third shared: "Lenny Henry is the epitome of a decent bloke."
