Leeds United loanee Sam Greenwood achieved a career 'dream' on Saturday - but it perhaps didn't pan out the way he envisaged it as a boy. The 21-year-old joined Middlesbrough on loan this summer following a host of Leed arrivals in towards the back end of the transfer window, making his first start for Michael Carrick's side in Tuesday night's win over Cardiff City.
The clash itself was a match between two of the Championship's in-form teams, with Boro finally finding their feet after a poor start to the season, while the hosts are riding high in the playoff spots. The two sides cancelled each other out in the first half, but a red card for Black Cats midfielder Dan Neil in first-half stoppage time would end up changing the game.
"Yeah, unbelievable. It's always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid to walk out at the Stadium of Light but I've done that now and scored against them! It feels unbelievable to be fair. It was a professional performance from the lads and I'm buzzing with the result.""Yeah, he's always supported me so I think he'll have been a bit all over the place.
