Lauren Goodger has announced she is expecting her first baby with partner Charles Drury, insisting that while it might have "gone 100 miles per hour'" she couldn't be happier.
The 34-year-old has something very exciting to announce – exclusively revealing to new! that she’s pregnant with her first child. Neither of them are strangers to public relationships. Lauren’s romances with Mark Wright, Jake McLean and jailbird Joey Morrisson have dominated the headlines for over a decade.
Charles: I was over the moon. Family has always been such a big thing and I’ve got friends who have done it from such a young age, and my mum had me at quite a young age as well – at 17. It’s something that happened naturally and we wanted it straight away. When Lauren told me, it was mixed emotions, but something that I’d always wanted.
You’ve been open in the past about going through a miscarriage, Lauren. Was that on your mind during those first few months? Lauren: I was a daddy’s girl and I’m not going to slag him off as a person, but the way our relationship was when I went on TOWIE and over the years of growing up… our relationship fizzled out. I haven’t told him – so he’s going to find out here, like everyone else. That was a conscious decision, because I’m not making any more effort as the family have made no effort with me. Since the last interview where I said I hadn’t spoken to him, he hasn’t made any contact.
Charles: Definitely. I’ve spoken to a friend who has a boy and a girl and he said it’s totally different with a girl, even from when they’re a toddler. With girls you want to be the protector.
