Five local transport groups are to receive support in the latest grant round from SPT

Community transport organisations across Lanarkshire are to receive funding totalling more than £170,000 to continue running their vital travel programmes in the year ahead.

The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.The largest single grant of more than £61,000 will go to the Larkhall volunteer group, who support various community groups with their transport needs, run an access to education service for the children of the travelling community and provide a volunteer car scheme for those needing help to access medical appointments.

The grants are part of an overall £1.2 million package of support for community transport providers to meet costs including fuel, insurance, vehicles costs and volunteer training.
