Two Lanarkshire charities are in the running to win a funding jackpot after being shortlisted in the latest round of Scotmid’s community connect initiative.

The organisation, now running for more than 30 years, offers free transport to and from appointments for cancer patients across Lanarkshire, with volunteer drivers offering their vehicles and time to provide the service. Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre, located in Hamilton, plan to use any funding to set up various face-to-face peer and group sessions to help survivors make connections and aid their recovery from traumatic experiences.
