Keswick town council and local campaigners oppose decision to resurface path and make it more accessible to vehicles

The authority responsible for the Lake District has become the focus of angry protest from residents and campaigners over accusations that it has turned the region into a theme park.

Protect environment and habitat or exploit it, this should never be a difficult decision except for the money.

Developers always seem to get their way.

The last time I went up Helvellyn there was a race on, people were biking and there were loads waking . Have a look on google, the paths are huge. Over the years erosion from paths has become a huge problem and something has to be done in which to stop it getting worse,
