Labour is promising free personal care in England for over-65s most in need of it, so they will not have to pay for help with dressing, washing and meals.
It would bring England into line with Scotland, where personal care is free for those with the most severe needs. In anticipation of a general election this autumn, Labour has already pledged this week to axe prescription charges in England and remove the charitable status of private schools as a first step to"integrating" them into the state sector.

How is this going to be paid for? We did have a gold reserve until Labour (Gordon Brown) sold it. We've spent the last 10 years paying off the debts racked up by the last Labour government and have been squeezed by the Tories. So exactly how do Labour intend to fund this

How will this be assessed and who will carry out the assessment? What if you are old and just fancy having your expensive house cleaned for free? Will the care be provided by agencies with carers on zero hour contracts and not being paid travel costs?

How will they pay for it and also the biggest issue in the care sector is staff. They don't have enough carers to give this service. So no matter what you promise, you won't be able to deliver it. Free prescriptions yeah right.

All 65 year olds now have increased life expectancy, the working population will be topping up the magic money tree with increased taxes for generations to come.
If we leave the EU we can fund this from the £13 billion net saved, also by reducing VAT to say 12% that would be 5% that’s always give to the Government and instead of 15% going to the EU that leaves 7% from VAT alone to make such changes whilst also dropping VAT by 8%...
