LABOUR’S Tony Blair may have boosted calls for Scottish independence, former deputy leader of the Scottish National Party Jim Sillars revealed in one of his unearthed books.

has not granted permission for another public vote on the matter. The Nationalists secured a total of 48 seats out of the 59 available within Scotland in December – an increase of 13 seats – which the SNP took as a mandate for an ‘indyref2’. However, this comes after the SNP promised that the 2014 independence referendum was a once-in-a-generation opportunity.
