Andrew, 64, is said to have a lengthy lease on the Royal Lodge. However, as King, Charles is ultimately accountable for the Royal household's finances and could opt to withhold funds from Andrew, potentially leaving him unable to cover the exorbitant annual maintenance costs of the Grade II-listed property, reports the Mirror.
The source further noted that Andrew is "taking longer than desirable" to "recognise the reality of the situation". Yet, Prince Andrew appears unmoved. Royal Lodge, formerly the Queen Mother's abode, is a 19th-century Grade II-listed estate featuring a swimming pool and 90 acres of grounds. Andrew secured a 75-year lease on the property in 2003 where he resides with his former spouse Sarah Ferguson.
