King and William 'terrified' over Harry humiliation - fears it would 'backfire'

King Charles and the Prince of Wales are reportedly "terrified" of the potential repercussions if they were to remove Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 's Royal titles, a Royal commentator has claimed.

Since their move to the US, the couple has been openly critical of the Royal Family, levelling serious accusations including claims of racism. They've also secured lucrative deals, such as a Netflix series and the publication of Harry's memoir, Spare. Tom Quinn, the author behind Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle, suggests that there have been extensive talks between Charles and William about possibly stripping the Sussexes of their titles.Speaking to The Mirror, Tom remarked, "The last thing they want is to give the renegade royals something else to complain about.

When Harry and Meghan decided to step back as senior royals in 2020, they chose to keep their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, but did let go their His and Her Royal Highness prefixes. Also, Harry gave up his military ranks.
