Kilwinning Rangers skipper Ben Lewis has rejected a new contract at the club and will bring an end to his 16-year stint at Buffs Park.Rangers boss Chris Aitken admitted he was surprised by his captain’s decision but wished him all the best in the next stage of his career.
In a statement on the club's website, the gaffer said: “Ben Lewis leaving the club will take some time to get over, he is and always will be Mr Kilwinning, to say this was a surprise is an understatement and one I never seen coming. “From day one since I came in Ben was the ultimate professional and a great guy to boot. He leaves with nothing other than our best wishes and we wish him all the best. Good luck Benji.”
Meanwhile, the club announced their first signing of the close season with Cammy Kerr arriving from Renfrew. The 24-year-old bagged a brace in a 2-1 Renfrew victory when the clubs met at the start of last season. On the move, the midfielder told the club's website: "Very happy to join a club of this size, really looking forward to the challenge ahead and hopefully I can contribute to a successful season with the boys.”
