Josh Campbell's first-half goal was the difference between the sides in Leith.

It was a frustrating trip to the Capital for Kilmarnock as they headed back down the M8 empty-handed.

Killie made two changes from last week’s win at home to Motherwell with Matty Kennedy and captain Kyle Vassell making way for two Liams, Polworth and Donnelly. And seconds later Hibs did have the ball in the net as Martin Boyle rounded Will Dennis to poke home, but the effort was chopped off for offside.

Marley Watkins fizzed a cross across the goal face attempting to find substitute Andy Dallas, but David Marshall did well to deal with the danger.
