KFC has abandoned its drive to introduce healthier baked chicken products on its menu because nobody wanted to eat them.
A senior executive at the fast food chain revealed the move was a"disaster" and short-lived during a Public Health England conference. It followed disappointing sales of the Brazer grilled chicken sandwich launched in 2011, its 2012 Rancher sandwich and a pulled chicken product which came out in 2015.
"It didn't go brilliantly well. We tried and we failed to launch a non-fried product," said Jenny Packwood, head of brand engagement at KFC UK and Ireland."It's no good launching a product which looks good nutritionally but then nobody buys.More from UK

No surprise, very few that eat the ‘food’ this place produces would stand within a mile of a super food salad. These places have drive thru’s for a reason ..

Aproperbot That's understandable. When I'm thinking about healthy food, fast food joints like kfc and McDonalds aren't exactly places that hop to the top of my list.

I’ll add a spin to this KFC_UKI kfc I buy lots of unhealthy, takeaway food. It’s stupid and I’m not proud, but I do. What I will never do is buy from KFC as our KFC branch is FILTHY. I would sooner eat off the floor. Basic cleanliness is lacking.

Same with all fast food outlets. A friend of mine works at one place where they make salads that end up in the trash can all the time. People go there for the burgers and fries. The healthy salads are nothing but a gimmick.
