McGuinness is suspected of being paid thousands of euro to organise the brutal attack on the Quinn Industrial Holdings boss

The gangster who Irish police believe organised the kidnap and torture of businessman Kevin Lunney died of heart failure during a raid by armed English cops.

He died when police raided a house in the village in Buxton, Derbyshire, two months later as part of the probe into the crime. Chesterfield Coroner’s Court heard yesterday he was woken at his home in Buxton to find himself surrounded by police officers wearing stab-proof vests. All three were found guilty of abducting and intentionally causing serious harm to Mr Lunney, who was kidnapped in Fermanagh, before being tortured and dumped in Cavan.

The pathologist told the inquest: “After about 45 minutes to 60 minutes I understand that he started to become unwell.“However, his condition deteriorated, an ambulance was called, the officers at the scene gave him first aid and he must have arrested as CPR was started.” “I found no marks to suggest that he had been excessively restrained against his will or was subjected to any form of trauma.“The other possibility is that the stress and the situation that he was in, ie the police entering where he was, the handcuffs... caused him to have a heart attack.
