I've just checked on NHS website. In the UK vaccination for chickenpox is only offered to people with a reduced immune system.

This has been around for 100 years. Chickenpox is very rarely serious is kids but will provide immunity as adult when Chickenpox is serious.

Well chicken pox is almost always a pretty mild childhood disease. My mother had my brothers and I go play with neighbor kids when they had it so we’d be exposed. This is hardly controversial.

When we were kids, parents used to allow kids to catch childhood illnesses to prevent them from getting them as adults, especially, chicken pox But of course, that was before there were vaccinations
